WomensAux

Founded in 1949, many of the original members of the Women’s Auxiliary were inspired to become involved in the Misericordia community by the outstanding generosity of their own dedicated mothers, aunts, and friends who were members of the Women’s Board.  Throughout the years, this very vibrant group of volunteers has generously given their time, energy, and expertise to host several very successful fundraisers annually.

Major Events

pink_fashion_aSpring event and Fashion Show, Misericordia Loves Chicago: Beginning in 1984, the Women’s Auxiliary has partnered Bloomingdales to present the newest styles to over 600 guests each spring in downtown Chicago.  The event welcomes guests for an afternoon of cocktails, lunch, raffles, and entertainment by Misericordia’s own Heartbreakers.

FirstLookforCharityFirst Look for Charity
Each February, Misericordia joins 17 other Chicagoland charities for a Black Tie event at McCormick Place.  As part of the Chicago Auto Show, First Look for Charity provides attendees the opportunity to enjoy world-class cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live entertainment while previewing the year’s newest models in cars and trucks before the show opens to the public.

Holiday Luncheon
Women’s Auxiliary members enjoy a day of lunch and shopping on Misericordia’s campus.  While at the Greenhouse Inn Gift Shop, members are able to enjoy items created by Misericordia residents, including holiday cards, amaryllis pots created through the partnership of the work programs at Heart Studios and Greco Gardens, as well as various other items that help spread the mission of Misericordia throughout the community.

Volunteering
Women’s Auxiliary members contribute to the volunteer efforts at Misericordia throughout the year, specifically each fall, as the Women’s Auxiliary sponsors the Harvest of Hope walk on Misericordia’s campus, a favorite event of residents and families.
